Bottom Scratchers

Before diving masks, fins and other equipment were even invented, this group began skin diving in the waters around San Diego. Only a select, 19 members were ever initiated into this pioneering waterman's club. Founding members include Glen Orr (far left), Ben Stone (center) and Jack Prodanovich (far right) pictured here at Seven Caves, La Jolla.
I put little book together to honor those watermen and the rich history of our coast.

  1. Cami,
Here's the book we were talking about yesterday. I think after talking with Laura we may be planning an after swim get together in June at the Cove... we're thinking mid-June, but everyone needs to look at their calendar. We'll do a pot-luck thing and Bill and I will bring some of the Bottom Scratchers stuff, like the original album with amazing photos, etc. And we'll all be in a place everyone can enjoy together... Stay tuned!
I can order you one of these books, but you can look at it online too.

  3. Marta (and Cami),
They're expensive (though beautiful) books! I can order them from Shutterfly for $28.70 (including tax), if I buy two books, they will ship for free. I think Cami wants one (and the shipping isn't cheap), so if you want to check with Cami (and both want one), I can order two. I'll be happy to do that. Otherwise, the shipping I believe is: $7.99 per single book. So that would make it $36.69 (includes tax and shipping) for one individually purchased. So, basically if I buy two or more books, you each save about $8 dollars each... Let me know if you want me to order you one...
